This project in Wynn Vale is a masterclass in blending contemporary design with the endless comfort of a high-energy-efficient design and build. Designed for a lovely couple looking to balance style with long-term practicality, the home features a striking skillion roof and a layout optimised for ageing in place.
Inside, the open-plan living and dining areas are bathed in light, complemented by a dedicated lounge and piano room, a functional butler’s pantry, and an undercover alfresco space for entertaining. The home also features a master suite with ensuite and walk-in robe, plus an additional bedroom, which doubles as a study and a double garage with workshop and room for a trailer.
Sustainability was the heartbeat of this build, achieving a rigorous 2.17 air changes per hour to ensure a draught-free, airtight envelope. To handle the North-West facing rear aspect, we integrated high-performance double glazing and adequate shading to block the hot summer sun while inviting in the winter warmth. The design further prioritises comfort through Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) for constant fresh air, cross-ventilation for natural cooling, and a large roof for solar system with battery storage.
