It’s not a fun thing to say, but here it is: most houses being marketed as “energy-efficient” homes in Adelaide aren’t that efficient. Not really. This is part of the broader energy-efficient homes marketing spin that often misleads potential buyers.
They might tick a couple of boxes — throw in some double glazing or a bit more insulation — but they haven’t been properly designed for performance. They just sound good in a brochure.
And most clients don’t find this out until they’re living in the home. The bills are higher than expected, the comfort’s hit and miss, and a few rooms never really feel right.
The problem is, “energy-efficient” gets used so casually that it’s lost meaning. It’s become a selling point instead of a performance outcome.
At Enduro, we take it seriously. Airtightness, thermal bridge free construction, mechanical ventilation — these are the things that make a home comfortable, efficient, and healthy long-term. They’re not flashy, but they matter.
We test what we build. We model it before we build it. And we tell clients what’s really required to achieve performance — even if it’s not what they thought going in.
Because if you’re going to build a high-quality home, you shouldn’t have to find out the hard way that it doesn’t actually perform.
