In most industries, when someone gives you a fixed price, you expect that to mean what it says. Fixed. And when you sign a fixed price building contract, you should expect exactly the same thing.
But for some reason, building seems to operate differently. A fixed price contract often ends up meaning “fixed until we start documenting things” — and then the extras start creeping in.
I don’t think that’s good enough.
If we’re going to give you a number, we should be confident that it’s accurate and that you can build your home without playing budget roulette the whole way through.
That’s why at Enduro, we take our time up front. We work through the design, the inclusions, the engineering, and everything else that affects cost, so when you sign a fixed price building contract, the price is one you can actually build to.
Of course, there are still choices along the way. If you change something, the cost changes too. But what we don’t do is leave half the job out of the price and call that transparency.
A fixed price should mean peace of mind, not crossed fingers.
And if a fixed price building contract doesn’t give you that certainty, it’s not really fixed.
