What a great day for an open house it was yesterday as part of Sustainable House Day!
Enduro Builders had the opportunity to spend the day with TS4 Living showing interested individuals, couples and families through one of there energy efficient homes and discussing sustainable building and design.
Before the event Brett (TS4 Living Architect and Partner) and I spent some time building sample walls to demonstrate TS4 Living’s wall systems. We both found it funny that a builder and an architect can work creatively and cohesively well together! Even if it was only two sample R5 walls, it bodes well for building whole houses!
These walls allowed us to talk to interested people about how these homes are built and why building with a mix of technology and higher care for detail can net new home owners lower energy costs and more livable homes.
As well as having the house open we setup a marquee in the park nearby where we had samples of the latest uPVC window and door extrusions, a window in its frame and a range LED lights available exclusively through TS4 Living.
One of the biggest talking points was the growing focus of second hand home buyers on the energy efficiency of the homes they are buying. While this is still a new thing, I expect that in the next decade (when a lot of houses built now are likely to be coming onto the market as home owners upgrade) homes will be price affected depending on their energy efficiency.
So if your thinking of building a new home, or improving and adding to your existing home, consider talking to us about how we can help you reduce your living costs and improve the livability of your home.
