Project Story

Created with parameters of space in mind a 12m x 10m area was created at the back of the old double brick 50’s home. This renovation and extension was all about retaining the existing loved home and extending it to match their growing family. This comprehensive project replaced all the windows in the existing, made thermal efficiency improvements, converted a kitchen into a bedroom and a bedroom into a bathroom, it also closed the front porch to make a much loved and needed mud room.

In the new part a light and bright kitchen/living/dining area was created with views into the hills, a master bedroom and ensuite were also added to create a parents sanctuary.

Also with absolute cm perfection in mind was a verandah and outdoor entertaining space, a custom outdoor fireplace and honed alfresco creating perfect indoor/outdoor living.

Despite doubling the size of the home, the energy bills have not even increased! The airtightness of the old part has been improved and the new has been built with Passive House principles in mind, creating a comfortable and well sealed home.

Giving them a beautiful, spacious and comfortable family home, this project was completed on time and on budget!

I think the highlight of the whole thing was that it was very collaborative. And as Ross said, it always seemed to be Enduro’s goal that we as the customer were happy with the project and that was great. That was a great attitude to work with.
